Halls sold out

More than 74,000 Fair visitors attended the over 1,300 meetings in the 27 halls of Lingotto Fiere, including the Oval, a great innovation for the 2011 edition. A total of 36 meetings with the Green Point ticket were held, with about 15,000 free tickets issued. At the Sala Oval, which can host up to 600 people, 14 meetings were sold out. On Monday morning, the hall was full for Empire. Daily Life in Ancient Rome, with Alberto Angela. Completely full for Night of Stars with Margherita Hack, for the meeting with Erri De Luca and the keynote lecture by Umberto Eco entitled Making novels: liberty and constrictions on the writer. On Saturday 14 seven events were sold out: full for the debate between Giancarlo De Cataldo, Giovanni Fasanella and Alessandro Mari on the Risorgimento. The talk by James Redfield, the show of Aldo Cazzullo Long live Italy, the tale of Dario Fo on Boccaccio, the debate between Alberto Asor Rosa and Enzo Bianchi, for the Sentimental Journey in Italy by Vittorio Sgarbi and the presentation of the latest work by Susanna Tamaro. On Sunday it was all full for the meeting with Massimo Gramellini co-ordinated by Mario Calabresi, for Gian Antonio Stella and Sergio Rizzo and for the dialogue between Gustavo Zagrebelski and Ezio Mauro on the happiness of democracy. The meetings in other rooms were also a great success. In the Sala Gialla (600 seats), Thursday full for Luciana Littizzetto; Friday for Alessandro Barbero, Valerio Massimo Manfredi, Eugenio Bennato; Saturday sold out for the 25 years of Micromega, for Odifreddi’s imaginary dialogue with Ratzinger, for the meetings with Luis Sepulveda, Paola Mastrocola, Eugenio Scalfari and Claudio Santamaria. All full on Sunday for Mario Calabresi, Eve Ensler and Ascanio Celestini. In Sala Azzurra (350 seats) sold out on Thursday for Hans Kung and the debate between Giuliano Amato and Paolo Peluffo. On Friday the room was full for the meetings with Ernesto Franco and Paolo Mieli, as well as for the debate Culture, an arm against the mafias with Lirio Abbate, Tommaso De Pace, Peter Gomez and Tano Grasso. Saturday 13 all packed for the meeting Only 150 years, at the origins of the Italian identity, for the meeting with Vanessa Diffenbaugh, for the presentation of the book by Frank Schaetzing and for the analysis of the relationship between the Church and women by Michela Murgia and Gad Lerner. Almost sold out also for the readings of Giuseppe Battiston and Anna Bonaiuto. Sunday, instead, completely full for Giovanni De Luna, Piergiorgio Odifreddi, J. S. Stephens and Margaret Mazzantini. The Sala Rossa (350 seats) was sold out for the meeting with the mayor Sergio Chiamparino on Thursday; Friday full for Pietro Grasso, John Elkann, Bill Emmot and Mario Deaglio. Sunday for Mancuso and Odifreddi and for the readings of Celine performed by Giuseppe Battiston. The Sala Blu (150 seats) was also very popular with the public. Friday, completely full for Salman Natour, Otto De Kat and for the 60th anniversary of the review il Mulino, and for the meeting with Paul Harding and for the debate on the Future of Palestine, on Saturday 14 May. |
